226.8
goal=228
me=226.8
This is as little as I've weighed lately so from here on out it'll be real weight loss. Not just skipping a soda before weigh-in.
Go, Cat, Go!, the Carl Perkins Bio is pretty cool for the 150 pages I've squeezed in. It's a gas reading about these guys that are before even my time. Their rock is full of passion. They did it without the Marshall amp. A lot of the early gigs happen in my hometown, Jackson, TN. Jackson has it's place in rock's history after all. Even a nearby early gig where Carl met Elvis.

____She Walks In Beauty____
Kind of close to the deadline. Whew. I've set a poem by Lord Byron to song. It's one of his most popular poems and one of my favorites. Since his work is in the public domain that should fit nicely with this whole creative commons kind of thing. The drums were one take! Have to admit the drumming is turning out to be something fun for me.
SHE WALKS IN BEAUTY
She Walks In Beauty, like the night
Of cloudless climes and starry skies;
And all that 's best of dark and bright
Meet in her aspect and her eyes:
Thus mellow'd to that tender light 5
Which heaven to gaudy day denies.
One shade the more, one ray the less,
Had half impair'd the nameless grace
Which waves in every raven tress,
Or softly lightens o'er her face; 10
Where thoughts serenely sweet express
How pure, how dear their dwelling-place.
And on that cheek, and o'er that brow,
So soft, so calm, yet eloquent,
The smiles that win, the tints that glow, 15
But tell of days in goodness spent,
A mind at peace with all below,
A heart whose love is innocent!

Bobby Rock
The monster drummer Bobby Rock came by and played on a trailer I'm been working on. He nailed it right away. Super guy and superior skin beater! It's time to start tracking tomorrow's WS.

Bowie rules!
Another allnighter last night. My fault though. I was blocked trying to come up with a David Bowie knockoff for a movie trailer. I love the challenge but man I was blocking on that one. It's probably cause Bowie is a real rock god and his music is iconic. I pale next to Alladin Sane.
That means I've got to do a whole WS tomorrow. It's written. But not recorded. Stay tuned.
Also trying to learn how to promote the blog. Being busy keeps the learning slow.

Hey Producers
My buddy Curt from Delirium Records came up with the idea of posting split tracks on the web. That means with every new tune there would also be a solo track for drums, vocals, bass and guitar. Since this is a creative commons license you guys could remix the vocal, use the drums on a completely different song, or use the guitar or bass tracks as part of your production. Give me proper credit and all's good. If you're using a traditional publishing paradigm add me as a songwriter. My publishing entity is Lavish Music BMI. Contact me and we'll figure out a totally reasonable split. It's just an assumption that this is going to catch on, but I look forward to hearing our music. It's going to be up within about a week.

Tortoise and The Hare

It's not too often I get to wear a hat. Last night's gig provided headwear. This picture is to prove that Souther Cal really has farms. We were playing in a tent in a cornfield. Good times for sure.
Saturday is turning into the day for percolating song ideas. So far I've been keeping it simple with just one guitar track plus bass and drums. It's pretty good practive for my drumming, too. I've been playing them since high school but I only got good enough to record about two or three years ago. It's like the Tortoise and The Hare. I just kept on banging 'em.
